SOLID 2014
As assistant chair to SOLID 2014 (produced by O'Reilly Media), I worked closely with Jon Bruner and Joi Ito to create, curate, and host an event focused on showcasing and discussing technology in the physical world.
The event was attended by approximately 1500 people and featured talks on subjects ranging from programmable matter to pipe organ manufacturing, as well as a demo hall including high altitude energy generating kites, 3D jewelry design, and advanced robotic platforms for filmmaking (just to name a few).
In the talk below, I describe experiences and lessons learned from the process of prototyping and designing Formlabs' Form 1 3D printer.
